You don’t have to struggle with damaged hair anymore. Fix your split ends and prevent them from happening in the future!
Split ends are a common problem for many people. As your hair grows, the protein structure in the lengths of the hair shaft will weaken. The result is that you end up with split ends. Having a few split ends from time to time is totally normal.
So don’t panic. A few split ends do not mean the end of you and your gorgeous hair!
That’s why most expert stylists recommend trimming your hair regularly. A little snip now and then is all you need to keep your hair healthy – unless you like to mess with it as much as we do.
Expressing yourself through your hair can be incredibly empowering. But when you push your hair past its limits, you may kill your confidence too. When you put your hair through too many processes, it can result in split ends to the extreme.
In the past, there was only one way you could fix that level of damage. Once your split ends got too out of control, your only option was to go for a big chop.
As women who are completely in love with our hair, that is simply not acceptable to us!
You don’t have to let split ends rule your life.
We believe you should be able to style your hair however you want without sacrificing its natural beauty. So, we are taking matters into our own hands!
Do you want to unlock the secret to having healthy, beautiful hair no matter what?
This guide will tell you everything you need to know about split ends and how to get rid of them.
What is a split end?
The ends of your hair are the oldest part of your hair. They’re also the most fragile and susceptible to damage. That’s because damaging substances are constantly coming into contact with your hair.
Sunlight, heat, chemicals, and other environmental factors will damage your hair with long-term exposure. If you’ve been exposing your hair to them for quite some time, the damage may be more severe.
Once these factors damage the cuticle layer of your hair shafts (the outermost layer), it can lead to split ends.
You’ll know you have them when your hair starts to split and break off. It’s not a fun time. But if you stay on top of your hair care routine, you can prevent it from ruining your hair for good.
The causes of split ends.
When you have split ends, your hair is damaged and brittle. Many different factors can contribute to split ends. Such factors include dryness, overuse of heat (such as flat irons), chemical treatments (like bleaching or coloring), and even poor-quality styling products.
There are a few tips that you can use to help prevent split ends from happening as much:
Use conditioner every time you wash your hair. Applying generous amounts of conditioner to your hair will moisturize the strands. Doing this will deliver nutrients to your hair strands and make them less prone to breakage.
Avoid brushing wet hair with a metal bristle brush. Aggressively brushing your hair can cause major damage! Instead, use a wide-toothed comb made from plastic or wood. It is much gentler on weakened hair and won’t tear apart the ends like metal will.
Avoid braiding too tightly or curling tightly with hot tools like curling irons. Both actions stress the ends of your hair strands unnecessarily. All that stress could cause them to snap off quickly and result in split ends appearing sooner than you would like.
